Tips for choosing a wedding gown! How to pick a gown that flatters your body!

Every woman dreams of putting on the perfect wedding gown and walking down that red carpet with the blessing of your loved ones. But how do you find your destined wedding gown from the sea of available options? First, we’ll separate gowns into two categories! One type of gown is worn during banquets while the other is worn during your wedding photo shoot; the criteria for both differs slightly, so let’s begin with your banquet gown.
Unlike the gowns worn for photo shoots, banquet gowns can’t rely on software editing to sculpt your body or improve the gown’s quality. WIth one look, your guests will immediately know the quality of your wedding gown which is why our first step is to know the strengths and weaknesses of your body.

Wedding gowns for voluptuous figures
We recommend that voluptuous figures choose an A-line or high-waist wedding gown to cover the lower body for an elongated visual effect; if you want slender shoulders, choose a wedding gown that covers the shoulders.

Wedding gowns for S-shaped figures
Theoretically, any style will go perfectly with S-shaped figures! Since it’s a wedding celebration, we recommend tight-fitting, cylindrical, mermaid, or flared gowns to highlight your beautiful body
Wedding gowns for taller women
In general, tall and slender women can handle any style of wedding gown. However, a mermaid or flared wedding gown can showcase your height and elegance! Tight-fitting or cylindrical gowns can also accentuate slender figures; however, pay attention to the gown’s chest design to make sure the entire look carries enough weight

Wedding gowns for pear-shaped figures
Pear-shaped figures often feature narrower shoulders and buttocks. While the buttocks are often full, the waistline is still visible while the upper body is narrow and the lower body is wider. In these instances, avoid choosing tight or mermaid wedding gowns. We recommend an A-line, high-waist, or cancan gown that can help shape the lower body instead.

Wedding gowns for apple-shaped figures
Being the contrast of a pear-shaped figure, apple-shaped figures feature wider shoulders and hips for a wide upper body and narrow lower body, but still with a visible waistline. Therefore, it’s recommended that visual attention be diverted to make the body’s curves look more even. We suggest wedding gowns with corset designs that emphasize the waistline or gowns designed with short fronts and long backs to expose and visually extend the length of your legs.

Wedding gowns for petite figures
Petite figures often feature slender limbs. Due to their petite build, it’s much more challenging to pull off mermaid gowns designed for taller women. If you want to highlight your body, we recommend choosing a tight or cylindrical gown; A-line or high-waist gowns can also create the visual effect of lengthening your lower body, resulting in overall proportions that are much more even.

The secret to picking a banquet wedding gown is to highlight the strengths of your body and utilize their designs to divert attention. Captivate the crowd by showcasing the best parts of your body and become the center of everyone’s attention! If you have a dress that’s to die for but isn’t perfect for you, save it for your wedding photo shoot!
